De-bunking Myths about Green Cleaners

Suppose you are a contestant on The Family Feud.  You are asked the question, "Out of one hundred people surveyed, which room in the house contains the most germs?"  Which room would you answer?
Instantly, you would say, "the bathroom."  More than likely "the bathroom" would be the #1 answer on Family Feud, and your team would get to start the next round.  Our fears of bathroom cleanliness are the number one reason why people believe they need strong chemical cleaners to combat germs.

The Blessing of a Broken Dishwasher

--written by Brenda
I will be honest, one of the on-going challenges in my home has been keeping a clean kitchen.  It is not for lack of cleaning products as I am a firm believer in cleaning with all-natural, green cleaning products.  Something mysterious seems to occur between the late afternoon hours and the late night hours of the day.  The "Dirty Dish Bandits" show up and do their mischief. (I am sure these "Dirty Dish Bandits" are in cohorts with my teenagers!)

Then one day it happened, my dishwasher died.

It was not a sudden death but a slow drawn-out death.  Even though I knew it would happen soon, I was not ready for that day.

With my dishwasher now beyond repair, the Dirty Dish Bandits wreaked even more havoc in my kitchen. Although my children (college-aged & teenagers) do chores around the house, and clean up the dishes after supper, my kitchen always seems to have some dirty dishes lying about (in those peak hours I already mentioned).  When the dishwasher broke, the problem became compounded.
I decided enough is enough and one weekday afternoon I set about removing every cup, glass, bowl, plate and all silverware from my kitchen cupboards.

The broken dishwasher was propelling our family into minimalism!

All Natural Surfaces Should Be Cleaned with All Natural Cleaners

Brightly Green Spotlights…

What sets Brightly Green Granite & Tile Cleaner apart?
"It is in the all-natural, proprietary ingredient that provides two different functions," says Prof. Jerry McAdams, technical director and formulator for HG Labs LLC's Brightly Green.  He went on to say…"No other product has this formula".  Almost all of the major brands contain ingredients that are not accepted by most organizations that are concerned with environmental health and safety.

What are the functions of Brightly Green Granite & Tile?
First it dissolves natural oils and food-based deposits.  Wiping the surface with a  clean, damp cloth removes the dissolved deposits.

There is no need to dry the surface because the second function of Brightly Green Granite and Tile Cleaner helps to quickly evaporate any remaining water.  The surface is left clean and dry.  There are no worries about toxic chemicals on your natural surfaces as Brightly Green Granite & Tile Cleaner is a 100% plant-based cleaner, making it safe for you, your home, office, and the environment.

Purposeful Green Homes: Part Two

When family or friends come over to your home for a visit, are you the kind of person who apologizes for the way your house looks?  Do you talk about how you need new furniture, curtains, etc.?

We are continuing to look at creating purposeful homes as was begun last week.

Maybe you are thinking…. I don't have a purpose for my current residence because I am waiting until I live in _____kind of home.  If you are holding out for some future place to really call home-- what makes you sure the "next place" will be IT?  Don't let your current residence rob you from peace and contentment in the present!  Learning to find contentment in your current house is of great value.

The effects of having a purpose for your home as opposed to not, are quite significant...

Purposeful Green Homes

Not too long ago my children stumbled upon a documentary on Tiny Houses.  I happened to be walking through the room as they were watching it and my attention was caught.  I sat down and began to watch it with them.  There was something very intriguing in the idea of living so simply and intentionally.
Each person interviewed in the documentary had a purpose for their home and the space within. For many of those tiny home dwellers, much thought was put into the switch to living small and simple.  Some had a series of downsizing they went through before moving to the tiny house on a trailor. Each person interviewed, however, had more of a sense of peace about life.
