While most people enjoy the beautiful holiday festive décor,
less people enjoy the setting up and taking down of all the “holiday cheer.”
Make your holiday storage as green, inexpensive and hassle
free as possible.
Here are a few quick tips to get you going:
·
Save those egg cartons! Egg carton are perfect for storing small
bulbs and ornaments.
·
Repurpose cardboard toilet paper rolls to keep
bows in shape.
·
Wrap Christmas lights around heavy pieces of
cardboard to keep them tangle-free. This
also makes for easy restringing lights on next year’s tree.
For more than one Christmas tree, keep all ornaments for that tree in the same tote. Label the tote according to which room the tree will be in. Next year that box will end up in the room you want it to go to without the need to dig through it and figure that out!
Some decorations you may want to keep out during the winter months, be sure to label a box, “Winter decorations” so they do not end up mixed in with Christmas décor.

Winter months can feel long and dark. Why not keep some of those Christmas lights
out and put them in a glass jar or glass blocks? A little left over “holiday cheer’ through
the winter will help chase away the blues.
