Your Comprehensive Guide To Spring Cleaning!



This is Brightly Green's "Top to Bottom" & "Room by Room" Spring Cleaning Guide.  We've tried to include everything and give you the right-green cleaners to make this year's spring cleaning experience your best ever!  Let's get going so you can get on with fun-filled spring and summer plans!


Here are the basics to cover in each room (where applicable):

Find Brightly Green Products here: The Brightly Green Store!
  • Dust Ceiling-where wall meets ceiling
  • Curtains- take down, wash (use Brightly Green Laundry Wash), send to the cleaners or vacuum them if they are made of moderate to heavy tapestry
  • Windows-wash outside/inside(use Brightly Green Glass Cleaner), windowsills and screens clean with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner
  • Blinds-clean both sides; take them down or leave them up- clean with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner or Brightly Green All-Purpose Degreaser
  • glass globe light fixtures-remove and wash out with Brightly Green Dish Wash
  • baseboard trim wipe down thoroughly( use Brightly Green Multi-Purpose or Wood Floor Cleaner)
Helpful tips about general household surfaces & what to use:

Painted surfaces: Use Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner.

Sealed wood surfaces:  Use Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner (You may be tempted to use an oil-based wood soap; these leave residues behind.  Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner safely, and effectively cleans all sealed wood surfaces)

Brightly Green's Room by Room Guide.  This week we begin with the bathroom and mudroom/laundry rooms.

The Bathroom:

The Cleaning Bucket (supplies needed to tackle the job):

Brightly Green, Bathroom Cleaner, Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner, Brightly Green Daily Shower Cleaner, Brightly Green Granite & Tile Cleaner Brightly Green Glass Cleaner, old rags or microfiber cloths. (Low on supplies? Visit Brightly Green Store)
  • Vanity-Remove everything from within. Wash both exterior and interior surfaces. Get rid of anything you do not use or need before putting items back.
  • Medicine Cabinet-Clear it out and check dates on medications; properly discard any outdated medications. Wipe interior/exterior surfaces. 
  • Wash down bathroom walls with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
  • Linen closet-Remove all items, wash down shelves, put back in only items you truly use or need.
  • Replace worn out washcloths, hand towels, bath towels and or shower curtain. (Repurpose your old towels/washcloths into rags)
  • Follow up by cleaning the rest of the bathroom in your normal, green-clean way!

    Mudroom/Laundry Room:

    Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Brightly Green Granite & Tile Cleaner, Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner, rags or microfiber cloths.
    • Wash "winter wear" items (scarves, mittens, hats & coats) with Brightly Green Laundry Wash.  Store away for next winter season!
    • Shoes/boots-decide what fits or not and give away gently worn, outgrown footwear.
    • Cupboards-clear out and wipe down with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner or Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner.
    • Wash down all walls with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
    • Dryer-Clean back lint vent with vacuum hose.  Also, vacuum around the fan intake area, this will help reduce fire hazards as well as help maintain the efficiency of your dryer!
    • Washer/dryer- Wash exterior visual surfaces with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner.
    • Finish the room with your normal, green-cleaning routine!
