What Is Lurking in Your Closets?

This week we are focusing our spring cleaning on rooms that are for some the scariest to tackle...our kids' rooms!

So, pull up your sleeves and let Brightly Green Cleaners help you clean out the monsters in the closets and under the beds!

BEFORE YOU CLEAN...DE-CLUTTER
If your kids' rooms are like most- you will need to de-clutter in order to get the deep spring cleaning job you want!  Dust bunnies love to hide among piles of stuff in corners, under beds, and in closets.  So, let's tackle that clutter!

First:
Go through the dressers and closets sorting clothes.  Make two piles; one for clothes that still fit and one pile for clothes they've outgrown.  Take the clothes that do not fit to your local charity.

Second:
Toy tackling time:  Get three boxes label them- "For Keeps", "Broken", "Giveaway".  Depending on the age of your child (and the attachment he/she has for the toys) you may not want to let your child do this de-cluttering alone.

Shelving Issues:
Now that you know what goes and what stays- do you have the right kind of shelving to keep clothes and toys in their proper places?  If you need more shelving there are many wonderful ideas on the web to consider.

Let's get to cleaning:
Remember start from top to bottom.  It would be a good idea to wash down all the walls and baseboards.  Use Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner for this task.  Our multi-purpose cleaner will not remove paint; making it the perfect cleaner to wash down walls and painted baseboards.

Wipe dressers inside and out with Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner

Clean windows with Brightly Green Glass Cleaner including the screens, window tracks and windowsills.

Washing toys:  Collect all submergable toys and put them in a laundry basket.  Head to the bathroom and fill the tub with warm water adding Brightly Green Dish Wash to the running water.  Dump the toys in the tub and wash them altogether.  Allow toys to air dry on bath towels or beach towels.  Your younger children will have fun helping you wash the toys!

Non-submeragable toys- spray Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner on a cloth and wipe toys clean.

Strip beds/cribs and wash all bed linens with Brightly Green Laundry Wash.

Wipe down headboards/footboards & cribs with Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner or Brightly Green Wood Floor Cleaner.

Continue cleaning the rest of the room as you normally would!

With Brightly Green Cleaners you can be confident that you are giving your child's room a safe, non-toxic, healthy, green-clean!
