The Draining Dilemma
with Clutter:
--drains your budget:
late fee charges because bills were lost in paper piles
--drains your credit score:
overdue payments because, again, bills were lost in paper piles; higher
interest rates accrue
--drains your wallet:
unnecessary expenses on replacing lost items, i.e. sunglasses, phone
charger,
--drains your health:
stressed out before even leaving the house for work because you are
scrambling in search of car keys, glasses, shoes
--drains your time:
wasted time searching for lost/misplaced possessions
Bottom line: It is an unnecessary waste of time, energy,
focus and expense when you live with clutter!
The GAINS with Clutter Free Living:
--more $avings in your wallet/budget

unnecessary lost/misplaced items

Becoming Clutter-Free: A REAL
Life Story!
The Paper Hoarder
Clutter came in the
form of many piles of paper for my close friend, Susan. She could not seem to throw anything away,
"what if I may need it?" was her response. The paper piles began to grow from room to
room until the point came that Susan could not concentrate on much of
anything. Those paper piles were
becoming a distraction that were affecting her focus and productivity on a
number of levels.
A Cry for Help! When Susan was over her head with
frustration—she called me up and asked if I would help her get out from under
the mess! I do not live near Susan, so I
could only help through encouragement and working through practical steps to
get out from under the clutter.
Susan started by
addressing only the paper piles in the busiest room of her home. The plan was to spend a set amount of time
each day on just that pile. As Susan
began with that baby step the paper pile began to shrink. This brought a new confidence to her and she
became encouraged that she would actually be able to accomplish eliminating all the clutter!
The Result: The paper pile in that room is gone and Susan
has moved on to tackle other paper piles in her home. She has learned how to develop effective habits
that keep the original paper pile from returning and with that habit in place,
other clutter-free habits are developing!
Susan told me that she
feels a new freedom to be able to pursue the things she would actually like to
be working on, in addition, she has more focus for the things that matter
most to her!
