Maintaining a welcoming clean and neat entryway is not easy
to do when you are daily wrestling with a mountain of shoes.
The solution may not be the need for more cute shoe storage units, but a paring down of the family stockpile of shoes. You will attain instant gratification as you see clear floor space and organized

Time of project:
Depending on how large your family’s stockpile of shoes has
become, this could be done in under an hour or take more than an hour. Regardless of the time spent now, the rewards
will out way the effort!
A tip for success:
Each family member needs to be available for this to be done
accurately. Mom or dad do not truly know if a shoe still fits Johnny unless
Johnny is there to try it on! You may
need to do this project as family members are available. To avoid a long drawn out process, make piles
of shoes for each family member to go through.
This way you can have your shoe area cleared out and be able to green
clean each shelf before the shoes to be kept are returned.
Green clean space:
The fresh smell of lavender in your entryway will
be a welcome final touch to the project!
The use of a small bucket of warm water and a rag work in concert with
Brightly Green Multi-Purpose Cleaner to clean out each shoe shelf.

A Good Rule of Thumb (or toe):
One pair in = One pair out
One pair in = One pair out
Values kids learn from your
example:
Wise spending choices; needs vs. wants.
Less impulse shopping.
Character development—delayed gratification—wait for when
you really need a new pair.
True Story:
I have a child who struggles parting with shoes that are
worn out—I mean really worn out! The
soles are cracked allowing rain water to soak socks, topped off with holes in
the toes. “But mom,” was the desperate
cry of my child, “those shoes have traveled so many places with me!” My response, “I am glad you have had so many
wonderful adventures in those shoes, imagine all the places you will be able to
go to in a new pair of tennis shoes!” A
new pair was purchased!
You may need to do a little coaxing to help your child “let
go” of a pair of shoes! You can do it!
Let today be the day you tackle shoe mountain and enjoy a minimal, neat and eco-friendly clean entryway!
