Treat those Tricksters with Sustainable Treats!

Hopefully you have begun to look throughout your closets for that unique costume to put together, scouring thrift/consignment stores or plan on being involved in the
National Costume Swap Day

Living a green, eco-friendly lifestyle is worth the extra time and effort to achieve.

This goes for having eco-friendly, sustainable Halloween treats for the tricksters coming to your doorfront!

Turning your Halloween Green can also be done through the treats you give out.  This again may take some creativity on your part and extra time upfront; but the payoff will be rewarding.  Why? Because you are making a difference, an awareness within your own neighborhood as your treats are organic and sustainable as opposed to traditional!

If this is the first time you are going green in treat giving--we have suggestions for you.  Take a look at our findings, but also ask your children what they might like to receive in place of candy.  Brainstorming together should yield some interesting results!

Maybe you would even like to have a few options available depending on the age of the trick-or-treater.  Younger children might be excited to receive a seashell or polished rock, whereas an older child probably would not.

Sneak Peaks:  Thanksgiving Decorations:

It is not too early to pull out your tote or box of Thanksgiving decorations.
Consider what you may or may not want to put up this year.  If there are things you decide not to put up, consider swapping with a friend!  This would change up your look a bit!  Or if you would like a few more items, check out your local thrift store or consignment shop.  I have noticed many Fall & Thanksgiving home decor items for sale in these resale shops where I live!  Maybe you would like to turn a small profit by consigning some of your items to a store!  This could earn you a little more holiday cash!

Stay tuned for more holiday tips ahead as our
HG Labs Holiday Notebook kicks into gear soon!
